How It Works Featuring the worldâs first naturally-recorded alert and alarm calls, the GooseBuster PRO electronic goose unit repels Canada geese from areas up to 1.5 acres (pairing units will cover 4-6 acres due to the way the sound waves carry). Geese immediately recognize the frightened cries of other geese, causing them to flee areas instinctively. ALERT calls indicate uneasiness about a potential threat, while ALARM calls signify immediate danger. When geese hear these noises they evacuate quickly without waiting to identify the source. Sound selections are completely customizable and also include coyote barks and gunshot sounds, based on the most recent research to maximize the unitâs success. Calls themselves differ in frequency, duration, and intervals to prevent acclimation automatically. Sound combinations, sequences and speakers change randomly to give the perception of geese fleeing from many locations. The GooseBuster is based on the findings from decades of research performed by noted biologist Philip Whitford, Capital University Professor and Canada goose specialist. Since 1979 Dr. Whitford has studied Canada goose behavior and vocal communications and presenting and publishing the results. Dr. Whitford also holds a BS and MS in wildlife management and has worked with Bird-X for many years. Pests Repelled The GooseBuster PRO was specifically created for repelling stubborn geese.
